Statement of Faith
The Bible is the inspired, infallible, and only authoritative word of God. (II Timothy 3:15, II Peter 1:21)
There is one true God, eternally existing in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – each of whom possesses equally all the attributes of Deity and the characteristics of personality. (Genesis 1:1, Matthew 28:19, John 10:30)
Jesus Christ is God, the living Word, who became flesh through His miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit and His virgin birth. Hence, He Is perfect Deity and true humanity united in one person forever. (Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:23, Luke 1:35, John 1:1-14, 10:33)
Jesus Christ lived a sinless life, performed many miracles, and voluntarily atoned for the sins of mankind through death by crucifixion on the cross as our substitute; thus, satisfying divine justice and accomplishing salvation for all who trust in Him alone. (John 2:11, I Corinthians 15:4, Hebrews 4:15, 7:26)
Jesus Christ physically rose from the dead in the same human body, though glorified, in which He lived and died. Jesus Christ ascended bodily into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God the Father, where He, the only mediator between God and man, continually makes intercession for His own. (Matthew 28:6, Mark 16:19, I Timothy 2:5)
All of mankind is born into the world with a nature totally sinful and corrupt and every person is thus unable to please God. The first man, Adam, sinned by disobeying God; thus, he and all of his descendants were alienated from the Creator. Every person is in need of a new birth and regeneration by the Holy Spirit to be reconciled and acceptable to God. (Isaiah 59:2, John 5:24, Romans 3:23)
The salvation of a person is wholly a work of God's free grace and is not the work, in whole or in part, of human works or goodness or religious ceremony. God imputes His righteousness to those who put their faith in Christ alone for their salvation, and thereby justifies them in His sight. (Isaiah 59:16, Ephesians 2:8-10, Titus 3:5)
It is the privilege of all who are born again of the Spirit to be assured of their salvation from the very moment they trust Christ as their Savior. This assurance is not based upon any kind of human merit, but is imparted by the new birth and is confirmed by the witness of the indwelling Holy Spirit and the testimony of God in His written Word. (Romans 8:9-17, Ephesians 1:13)
Every believer is created to walk in the Spirit who Himself empowers each one to live a godly life and bear fruit to the glory of God. Every believer has been appointed to proclaim the gospel and make disciples of all the nations. The fulfillment of this walk and this calling requires a daily giving of one’s life to ‘Him who loved us and gave Himself for us.’ (Matthew 28:19, I Corinthians 6:19-20, Ephesians 4:30, 5:18)
Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church, His Body, which is composed of all believers, living and dead, who have been joined to Him through saving faith. God admonishes His people to assemble together regularly for worship, for participation in ordinances, for edification through the Scriptures, and for mutual encouragement. (Colossians 1:18, Hebrews 10:25)
At physical death, the believer enters immediately into eternal conscious fellowship with the Lord and awaits the resurrection of his body to everlasting glory and blessing. At physical death, the unbeliever enters immediately into eternal conscious separation from the Lord and awaits the resurrection of his body to everlasting judgment and condemnation (John 5:28-29, II Corinthians 5:8, Hebrews 9:27)
Jesus Christ will come again to the earth – personally, visibly, and bodily – to consummate the end of the age and the eternal plan of God. (Acts 1:11, Revelation 19:11)
